St. Luke’s Church, Defence Colony reverently observed the sacred celebrations of Holy Week and Easter, bringing together parishioners in deep prayer, reflection, and joy as they commemorated the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The solemn journey began with Maundy Thursday, with the Holy Eucharist celebrated by Rev. Fr. Umesh Ekka, marking the institution of the Eucharist and the call to humble service. This was followed by the observance of Good Friday, led by Rev. Fr. Robert Swamy, where the faithful gathered in silence and devotion to meditate upon the suffering and sacrifice of Christ.
The Easter Vigil, the most sacred night of the liturgical year, was celebrated with great solemnity by Rev. Fr. Vincent Ekka, along with the English service conducted by Rev. Fr. Valan SJ, symbolizing the passage from darkness to light and the triumph of life over death.
The celebrations culminated on Easter Sunday morning, with the Holy Eucharist celebrated by Rev. Fr. Vincent Crasta, as the parish rejoiced in the glorious resurrection of Christ with renewed faith and joy.
The Resurrection of Christ is a powerful reminder that even in the darkest moments, hope prevails — calling us to live as witnesses of His light, love, and new life.
Parishioners participated wholeheartedly in each of these sacred celebrations, experiencing the depth of Christ’s love and sacrifice. The church was filled with an atmosphere of devotion, gratitude, and joy, as the faithful came together as one community. The Easter celebrations concluded with warm fellowship and exchange of greetings, strengthening the spirit of unity and faith within the parish.
