St. Luke’s Church, Defence Colony, is a warm and dynamic Christian community committed to worship, fellowship, and service. Our purpose is to share the love of Christ, deepen our spiritual journey, and positively influence the lives around us through compassion, prayer, and meaningful engagement.
Our church welcomes people from all backgrounds—offering a place of encouragement, spiritual nourishment, and belonging. Together, we seek to live out our faith with sincerity and to serve our neighbourhood and city with Christ-like love.
As Defence Colony began developing into a residential neighborhood, Christian families in the area felt the need for a local place of prayer and gathering. Early community leaders and visiting clergy supported small prayer meetings in homes, laying the groundwork for what would become St. Luke’s Church.
The church building was completed and officially consecrated, becoming the spiritual home for Catholics in Defence Colony and nearby localities. The first resident parish priest (name can be added if available) helped organize the parish structure and initiated regular liturgical services.
Under the guidance of dedicated parish priests during these decades, the church saw the establishment of youth groups, women’s associations, Bible study circles, and early outreach efforts—expanding the church’s service to the needy in Delhi.
As the city evolved, so did the parish. New catechism programs, choir groups, lay ministries, and pastoral initiatives emerged. Parish priests of this era focused on modernizing facilities and deepening faith formation across all age groups.
The parish continued flourishing with upgraded infrastructure, expanded prayer groups, family ministry programs, and youth involvement. Priests during this time emphasized inter-community support, renewed faith life, and community service.
St. Luke’s Church stands as an active and welcoming parish, embracing families from Delhi and beyond.

Together, they lead with dedication—nurturing spiritual growth, encouraging active participation in parish life, and guiding the faithful through prayer, fellowship, and service. Under their leadership, St. Luke’s continues to grow as a beacon of faith, compassion, and unity within Defence Colony.
